Better than a Hallelujah

You know how sometimes you hear a song and for some reason it just speaks to you and you are flooded with emotions and it fits either the day your having or something that is going on in your life well this is one of them. I heard it today and I thought wow! God loves us no matter what. All the mistakes we make and all the things going on in this crazy world he continues to love us. So I looked it up on you tube to get the lyrics and watch the video I love it even more now. It's sung by Amy Grant....amazing!

God loves a lullaby
In a mother's tears in the dead of night
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes

God loves the drunkard's cry
The soldier's plea not to let him die
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful, the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

The woman holding on for life
The dying man giving up the fight
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes

The tears of shame for what's been done
The silence when the words won't come
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes.

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful, the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

Better than a church bell ringing
Better than a choir singing out, singing out

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful, the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

Greatest man in history...

Greatest man in history named Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him master. Had no degree, yet they called Him teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him healer. Had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. Committed no crime, yet....they crucified Him. He was...buried in a tomb, yet He lives today!!!

Where did summer go??

I can not believe the kiddos start school next week! This summer has flown by...fast! I think I'm ready..till all the homework begins. Kayley will be in the 6th grade and Cody will be in 2nd. They are growing up way to fast!! I hope they have a really good school year. Last year was not the best but I have faith that this year will be better. I hope. They have had a great summer but Tony has been gone for most of it. We went and stayed a couple of weeks with him in Louisana that was fun great shopping too. I think we are going down there this weekend one last time before school starts. It's so hard not having him here but you do what ya gotta do..right? We miss him soooo much! We begin Kayley's orthodontic treatments tom. she will be getting something called a crib that sits on the roof of her mouth to keep her from pushing out her teeth. She has to wear that for 12 to 18 months and then she will get her braces. She is so ready to get started I am too can't wait to she her new beautiful smile when it's all over with. She is a little worried about the pain but I've told her it will be so worth it. We are taking her to Dr. Lorentz in Corinth I have heard nothing but great things about his work. Hope everything goes well and it's not to uncomfortable. I can't imgaine having something in the roof of my mouth for over a year...but she'll be fine. I'm going to take pictures along the way so we can see how she changes the Dr. said she will look totally different her jaw line will change and the shape of her face will change she'll be even more beautiful than she already is. My hope is if we can get started now she won't be in braces her whole high school life and maybe have them off before her senior year..senior year..oh my lord!!!

Cody's Trophy

My little man won his first baseball trophy on Saturday! It took 6 games and about 9 hrs. later! Long day! That was the first tournament we have ever done and let me tell you these boys worked sooo hard. He is beyond proud, he is still smiling.  Never thought they would do that well so I didn't take my camera but there were alot of pics taken at the ceremony so I'll get some..the one time I don't take it and look what happens maybe that's good luck. He has come such a long way since the beginning of the season and he loves it. This just sealed the deal for him he was already talking about next year. Good job little man!!!! We are so proud!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I so love being a mom! It's all I've ever wanted to do when "I grow up". Since I was a little girl I would pretend and play with my dolls and be mommy. Never could imagine how hard and how rewarding it would be. I love my babies with all my being! And what an honor to be called mom every single day. I pray that I'm doing a good job and that they will look up to me and one day say they had the best mom in the world...how great would that be. I hope that I make their childhood fun, memorable, loving, and God centered. My wish for them is they grow, love, and one day too have an awesome family with wonderful children of their own! It has been such an honor being your mom! I love both of you very very much! Happy Mother's Day!!

Special prayers for Kayley...

Kayley has had chronic nosebleeds for years and years and when I mean nosebleeds I mean alot of blood...so we took her to our family doctor and he could'nt figure out why she keeps getting them. He even put silver nitrate in her nose right after a bleed and claims that will stop them but it doesn't. She has had them at school at nite in her sleep anywhere anytime. I know she gets so tired of worrying about it always having to be prepared just in case. So we thought it was time to see an Ear, Nose and Throat doc. He exaimed her nose and said she had the beginnings of a devated septum but they don't fix that till she's older. Still that shouldn't be causing all the nose bleeds maybe it's allergies then he asked me if she ever had a strawberry birth mark on her head or face area. And she had one on her forehead when she was a baby. So now he wants to do a CAT scan of her head just to see whats going on and to see if he can tell why her nose keeps bleeding. I hope he finds nothing but at the same time I hope he can give her some answers and help her with this...I know it gets on her nerves and mine but most of all I want my baby healthy and happy.

Gulf Shores and a wedding!

We had such a good time with family and of course playing on the beach. I think this is my new favorite beach to go to. I've always heard how pretty Gulf Shores is and it was beautiful!! It was such a sweet service small only immediate family our brother-in-law marrried them. He did such a great job. There was not a dry eye! Chris (my brother) cried through the whole thing which in turn means I cried through the whole thing....they make such a sweet couple hope they have many, many happy years together! And enjoy your week in Mexico! We love you guys! Congratulations!!!!!

Kayley's Opening Day!

Kayley team is 1st. American and they played Brook's. This was her first game of 2 that day. We won!!! She is loving it so far. They went on to win their 2nd game against Sonic that afternoon. Way to go girls they played some good ball that day and of course they showed outstanding sportsmanship hope it stays that way. Funny I never thought I would be one of those Moms sitting in the stands yelling but I was Kayley played some good ball nearly lost my voice I was so proud of her. I think for the season they will have about 20 games..WOW that's alot of yelling but we're going to have a blast!! Keep ya posted about the games some nites she plays double headers...that will make for a long nite I guess but as long as she's enjoying it!

Play Ball !!

Cody first ever baseball game! He was so nervous. They are the Mets and that nite they played the Rangers. Sad to say they lost but they tried really hard. I was so proud of him. I love it that their coach lets them pray right before the game, He has another game tonite so maybe they can win this one. Good Luck Boys! You can do it!

They showed great sportsmanship such sweet little guys!

Loving our weather!

We have had such beautiful weather lately! On Friday since the kids were out out of school we went to Tishomingo State Park to play, walk some trails, and my favorite take pics of the kids. Wish I was better at it but I love trying not so sure the kids like it so much, but oh well. I packed a picnic lunch we had a really good day. My brother gets married next weekend on the beach...CANNOT WAIT!! So ready to get out of town for a few days and see the ocean and of course lots of pics on the beach. I've been wanting to get family pics of us on the beach for a long time now. Thinking about what we could wear maybe all white I think that would be so pretty I love seeing girls or even little boys dressed in white walking along the beach. Ready to enjoy some fresh seafood too!

On the hunt....

We had such a beautiful day Sunday hunting eggs, spending time with family, eating candy! The kids had such a good time. We went to my parent's church Sunday morning and had a hunt right after church. Tony has been out of town working now for 2 weeks so he missed Easter this year I'm soooo thankful for his job but at the same time it's hard on all of us. We just keep praying that hopefully some day soon he'll get to work close to home and be home everyday. Ball practice and games have started and they need their dad. I can take them and encourage them all day long but I don't know anything about baseball and softball plus it's not them same if he's not there. Ok enough of that I could go on all day about that subject!! I think he's going to try and surprise Cody and make it to his first game Thursday nite hope it works out so he can. He's been asking all week if daddy can make it he's so nervous...breaks my heart...but I'm going to think positive and good thoughts:)

Just a few more weeks till we go to the beach for his wedding....can't wait! Friday is the day!!

We found out today that we can pick my brother up Friday..for sure! He called this morning and he is in Texas and will be at Camp Shelby on Friday..thank you Lord he is home..I can't even type for the tears! This time has been really hard for me so emotional. I think it really hit me how dangerous his job was and how crazy they are over there.  How they don't care about human life. And the scary part is he has decided to be in the military full time now. It takes some special people to be in the military we owe them so much. I plan on taking some pics of his homecoming for sure. Last time I was not able to go, but this time we will be there with bells on and flags a waving and tears flowing!

We have prayed for his safe return. We pray for our troops to come home and most times they do but some don't while we celebrate I can't help but think of all the families who won't be having such a happy homecoming I pray for them always. I also pray his experience over there won't bother him once he is home....Lord only knows what he has seen and had to do. I am so proud of him and all he has done. Kayley and Cody thinks he hung the moon and he has:) Welcome home 155th! God Bless Our Troops!!

Ready for the hunt.

Going deer hunting with his new gun he was so excited but they didn't see anything that day when he does get one he will be beside himself. What wonderful memories we make with our children he will always treasure those times with his dad.

Christmas Morning 2009

Kayley wanted a "big" bike and some Wii games and Cody wanted a gun to go deer hunting with his dad and of course lots of transformers...they were so excited! I love Christmas morning and the looks on their faces when they see that Santa had made it..Cody says its magic because we have no chimney...so cute.

Santa and Cody 2009

Finally got around to putting up some Christmas pics...this was on his class trip to the Christmas tree farm. I had Strep throat so Tony went with them they had a good time wish I could have went. I was sooo cold that day. He got to see Santa and split some wood, they built a fire and roasted some hot dogs and went on a hay ride and seen how they make fresh Christmas wreaths.  He had a ball! What a cute idea for a trip during Christmas time.

New beginnings...

Kayley and Cody will be going to a new school tom...so nervous for them but I know they will do just fine. Oh I wish I could take their place and make the world perfect for them but I can't. Cody is the shy one so I know tom. will be hard for him while Kayley is the outgoing one and she'll have new best friends by the end of the day. They are like night and day that's what makes me love them so much!! I am so thankful to have such sweet good kids! We are truly beginning to feel at home. Ready to get a routine going. No more moving for a very long, long time I hope. Time for the kids to put roots down and to begin life time friendships. My goal for this year is of course to be a better wife, mother, christian, daughter and friend. I want to reconnect in ways I haven't in a very long time. So easy to get caught up in every day life that we let our relationships with people fade. I want to be closer to Jesus. Be a better friend. And listen! Take more time for myself so I can be a better wife and mother. Lately I feel I have failed in that department. I want to spend more time with family and friends old and new! Counting the days till my baby brother comes home from Iraq! What a homecoming! I guess you could say we've had a homecoming too and it has been great! 2010 is going to be a wonderful year...haft to believe..right?  I do believe and hope God will continue to bless us this year as he always does...Happy New Year and Happy new beginnings!!
